Faith Formation

Children and youth are honored members of the Restoration family. They are welcome in all parts of our worship services and are encouraged to attend Sunday School classes for engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons during the sermon and return for worship with the whole congregation afterwards.

Why Kids in Worship?

If you’re used to having special programming for your kids according to their age group, this might seem like a different or scary thing. But go with us…

We want our kids and students to actually be part of the worshiping community with us. We want to be next to them when they have that ‘aha’ faith moment; we want to share the Table with them; we want them to know they are celebrated and loved within our family of faith.

And in fact, that’s what we tell them every Sunday. After they worship with us and receive the Word, we bless them corporately and send them to their Sunday School class while the students and adults listen to the sermon. Then we welcome them back to join us for communion. (Nursery options are available.)

We know that means some extra background noise, and yes, at times, a little chaos. But we believe the benefits far outweigh the cost. We hope you will, too.
